One of my favorite outlets during this sad time of our lives is our yard. We have put countless hours of work into our yard, and it has been therapeutic and healing! We recently bought our first home this April, and I am so in love with our old house! It's eclectic, charming and fits like your favorite, comfy sweater. It truly was just what we needed to expel some of our frustration and energy. I am the first to admit I am a girly-girl all the way! I love baking, cooking, gardening, scrapbook, and quilting. Now, I am not claiming to do any of these well, but I love it all the same. :-)
So here it is...my ode to spring and the brink of summer, in hopes that our own baby has sprung....
This is the most recent picture of our veggies. Hopefully my tomatoes will turn out tasty, because I would love to make some sauce this summer.
Here our some pictures of the flower beds. We actually moved the flower bed back (which you can see in the picture), and cleaned out the entire area. It was very over grown, and the soil was over taken with vines.
Zoe's garden: I actually don't have a before picture for this. I planted the baby rose bush my friend gave to me here, and some other plants we had when we lived at our apartment.
Last but not least...my honey! (working hard! hehe)

The whole in the garage is where the old wood burning stove used to reside.

Yay for new grass!
We have a tri-colored Beech tree on the right side of the yard...the pink tree you see down below. We had to stake it because the oak tree (not seen in this picture) was over taking it a bit. It is a beautiful tree!

It looks great!!! I have never been a gardener, but since losing Ella, I planted a small veggie garden, and some pots of herbs and a few different flowers. I just guess I want to see something grow and flourish...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful yard. You're so lucky! I love Zoe's garden! Have I told you the story about Ella's butterfly bush? A friend bought it for me. It needs full sun, but our patio is all shade. So everyday I have to carry it into the hallway to get some sun. But, it gives me something to do. :) Hey, when is the dog coming home?
ReplyDeleteSawyer comes home tomorrow!!!! We are so excited. Yay!!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Thanks for sharing!!
